These are one of the most popular varieties of Goldfish in the hobby and given proper care, they can live for up to 20 years! The aquarium should be spacious and at least 1.5m long for one fully grown adult Fancy Goldfish. Because these fish grow very fast, it is advised that they are housed in the largest possible aquarium from the outset, especially as they are messy fish and larger aquariums stay stable for longer. Efficient filtration is essential and it needs to be able to handle copious amounts of waste. Plants can be added to the aquarium, but will need to be replaced periodically as most goldfish enjoy eating and uprooting plants.
