The Albino Cardinal Tetra is a rare and striking variant of the classic Paracheirodon axelrodi, showcasing a soft pinkish-white body with a pearly sheen, red eyes, and faint traces of the iconic blue and red horizontal stripesfound in the standard form. It retains the same peaceful nature and schooling behavior that makes cardinal tetras so popular, but offers a more delicate, ethereal appearance that stands out beautifully in planted or blackwater tanks.
Origin:
Native to the Rio Negro and Orinoco River basins in Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela. The albino form is a captive-bred rarity developed through selective breeding.
Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to care for. Feed a variety of high-quality micro flakes or nano pellets, as well as frozen or live foods like baby brine shrimp, daphnia, or cyclops. Regular feeding of color-enhancing or vitamin-rich foods helps maintain health and vitality.
Tank Mates:
Exceptionally peaceful and community-safe. Best kept in groups of 6 or more to encourage schooling and reduce stress. Ideal tank mates include other small tetras, rasboras, Corydoras catfish, dwarf gouramis, and peaceful shrimp species.
